Home is where the ART is

Context

In an area that’s going through a transformation, loads of newcomers settle in without knowing much of the neighborhood.

Concept

As HOBU, we collaborated with CBK and Grey Star and introduced H/ART (Home is where the ART is). This flexible artspace pops up in the ground and first (or second) floor of new apartment buildings before new residents arrive (and before the permanent renting party set in). All the new residents as well as people from the neighborhood are treated to an artwork for a year (free of costs). The art tells a story about the neighborhood. By hanging the artwork in your new house, residents feel more connected to their new living environment. Art tours, evening sessions, special exhibitions and mashup concerts were also organized to give the space a constant buzz.
