A big chunk of an old prison turned into a green meeting point

Context

An old prison was transformed into a refugee center and creative, social workplace. It was in need of an outside place where people could gather.

Concept

Around the only tree inside the former prison territory, we built a communal green park surrounded by more plants and additional little trees. The people who worked and lived in and around the former prison participated in the planning and execution phase. To top it off, we used a 500 meter long stretch of lightbulbs to create a safe and welcoming environment for all to share.
