Artwork doubling as Storyteller in Residence location

Context

In an area where many new apartment buildings arose, we were looking for a symbol for Amstel III.

Concept

Leonard van Munster is a renown artist who created a beautiful public artwork that is based on the world famous ‘Fallingwater’ by Frank Lloyd Wright. As HOBU, we adopted the work for Amstel III because it acts as a teaser, in some way, of all the man made mountains (the new apartment buildings) that will soon rise. All the new apartments complexes will go from 50 to 135 meters high. The artwork will also function as a Storyteller in Residence location for five well known Storytellers that have a special connection with de Bijlmer.
