Stay Sane Stay Safe
light and visuals projection
Context
In the beginning of the Pandemic, we wanted to do something for those working in the frontline, and those who had to stay safe at home and stay sane.
Concept
Next to the UMC Hospital is a building that was under construction during the summer. It formed the perfect canvas for a 30 x 30 meters projection of two different projects that both focus on the COVID19 pandemic:
Projections of poetry from the city poet and drawings and texts from children. The projections provided support, especially for those who work in the hospital next door.
A projection series with both international and local perspectives that ran for three weeks. Projections came from designs created all over the world and curated through the Stay Sane Stay Safe platform, and from the work of seven local designers.
After the projection shows concluded, we made prints of the projections to give away at a pop-up shop. We also worked together with the ZIGGO Dome, which used their facade to showcase several of the designs. Finally, we linked and helped Machteld Aardse en Femke Kempkes with a guerrilla action. On the day of a Black Lives Matter demonstration, several photos of the protest signs were projected on meaningful and iconic buildings.
