Knowledge Mile

A fierce community and innovation district focusing on tomorrow’s urban solutions

Context

The Knowledge Mile is a livinglab that stretches from Waterlooplein to Amstel Station, and contains multiple university campuses creating a world-class knowledge cluster. Since 2015 the coalition was formed that eventually lead to the establishment of a Business Investment Zone (BIZ) in 2017. The Knowledge Mile is a space to interact and share ideas.

The realisation of the ROEF Festival, showing the possibilities of the vastly underused rooftop landscape. This was inspired by The Knowledge Mile because of its many flat roofs and the local pioneers already using them.
The purchase of the Braincar, a perfect reflection of the Knowledge Mile that was used in many different ways.
The special edition of Boiling, using an inflatable, to create an instant ammunition room for impatient city makers.
