New Amsterdam Council
An independent council of 45 young Amsterdammers
Context
The New Amsterdam Council is an independent advisory council with 45 members. All members are young adults from Amsterdam (born between 1980 and 2000) who are busy improving the city. The members aren’t politicians, but rather experts from various fields like education, healthcare, business, media, science and culture.
Concept
As independent representatives of a new generation of Amsterdammers, the council gathers a couple of times per year to discuss a number of chosen matters of the city and what advice should be given. Since the launch in March 2018 the council created, with the support of Pakhuis de Zwijger, a series of programs, podcasts and articles.
