Context

The Amstel III district in Amsterdam is going through a transformation causing a number of buildings to remain vacant. Buildings that have potential for temporary use.

Concept

A group of creatives, including Vinger.nl and Bert Jacobs, had a radical idea called The Ballroom. An exhibition * film set * stage for and by makers who live, work and love in the Bijlmer. They found a space in Amstel III, changed it completely and created a program that was diverse in every way possible: from weddings to exhibitions, from movie nights to live radio sessions and from fashion shows to live music. It was the pinnacle of uniqueness.
